Holiday Gift Guide Marquette Castings

The holidays are fast approaching and one thing that we do a lot in my household is cooking. I feel during the colder months my family make a lot of stews, soups and chilis. One of my go to items in the kitchen is a Dutch Oven. I love cooking in different Dutch Ovens. Finding the right Dutch Oven is important when it comes to cooking. Recently I was introduced to the Marquette Castings Dutch oven is designed to work flawlessly from oven to stove top to tabletop.

I was able to take a look at one of their Dutch Ovens. I received their grey 6 quarts Dutch Oven. The color on the Dutch Oven is amazing. The paint job is smooth and the grey is just perfect. This dutch oven has enamel finish, non stick, non toxic and easy to clean. The overall high with the lid is 6 1/2". The overall height with lid in storage position 5". The pot height is 4 5/8". The total weight of this Dutch Oven is 13.57 LBS.

When it arrived it came in a secure box. The packaging of the Dutch Oven was spot on. It was even hard to get it out of the box. That tells you how snug it was inside. When I took it out of the box it was heavy, but I expected that. I washed it up, so I could use it the next day. It fit perfect on my burner and the lid fit correctly to the oven part. I decided that I was going to cook a small butterball turkey breast inside. I added potatoes, carrots and celery. A little bit of broth that we had on hand for the starter.

This Dutch Oven was easy to warm up. The advice about a dutch oven I would give is be patient. A Dutch Oven can take more time to heat up. Once it heated its harder to bring down the temperature. That is what I found out from using dutch ovens. When cooking with this Dutch Oven it went up to temperature smoothly and decent time. It maintained the temperature and cooked everything the way it should have. When take out the turkey, veggies and potatoes. Everything was cooked through and tender. The flavors mixed well together. It tasted amazing.

When cleaning up the Dutch Oven it went smoothly. I hand washed it with soap and water. Nothing burned on it and everything washed off easily. A little soap and water did the job and was clean. It was ready to be used again. This Dutch Oven definitely passes the test and will be used frequently. I would highly recommend giving this as a gift for that cook in the family. They will not be disappointed. You can find this Dutch Oven and their other products at the link below.
