Rata Honey from PRI

New Zealand Raw Honey- Rata Honey 500g

Recently my family and I have been learning about Honey lately. It was quite a journey learning thing about honey. The process of honey can interesting. When going to your local grocery store you may want to look at the honey that your purchasing. Not all honeys are pure honey. What I personally have been doing when it comes to honey is tracing it where it comes from.

Pacific Resources International is a great company to find different Honeys or Honey product that are out there. What I also like about this website is that they let you know where their honey is located and what flowers are used and all the details about that honey. We were able to look at their Rata Honey. This honey comes in two different sizes. We took a look at their 500g jar.

This Rata Honey is an award winning honey that comes from the remote native forest on the West Coast of the South Island New Zealand. This honey is a favorite of the master beekeepers. They usually keep this honey for theirselves, but have agreed to share some with us. If you are looking for a honey that undergone less processing than Rata honey is for you. This honey has shoer processing time that makes it higher in healthy enzymes and retaining a distinctive flavor.

What is a fun fact that Raw Hone has been processed less than conventional honeys. Raw honeys have not been stirred for long periods or heated above normal hive temperature. This will help raw honeys retain more micro nutrients. This Rata Honey is a single sourced honey and comes from one site only. What that means it come from one place where commercial honeys blend honey from different locations. What I like about Rata is that you can trace where it comes from. It comes from a remote, untamed landscape on the West Coast of the South Island.

When we tasted our honey it was very delicate and had a floral tasting making taste amazing. This was a lighter honey color. This is a honey that you would want on special occasion and for a treat. If you would like to find this honey or honeys check out their website below.
